The BMW Malaysian Open, a leg of the WTA Tour, will be held from 28th February – 6th March 2011 at the Bukit Kiara Equestrian and Country Resort. Held amidst the plush green setting of Bukit Kiara, top players from the WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) Tour will compete in Malaysia for a prize purse of US$220,000 and valuable World Ranking Points. With world class players such as Francesca Schiavone, Marion Bartoli, Dinara Safina, Kimiko Date-Krumm, Jelena Dokic and China’s Shuai Peng trying to dethrone last year’s returning champion Russia’s Alisa Kleybanova tennis fans will be in for some hard hitting action both on and off the court. The tournament format will include both singles and doubles competition and will see 16 doubles teams and 32 singles players competing in a knockout competition over the course of the seven day tournament.
