Sagna, 29 years old, sustained a fractured leg, which ruled him out of France’s line-up for EURO 2012. He recently played past through rival side Reading with Arsenal’s Under-21 team with Jack Wilshere as part of his recovery process.
Saying that he is aiming to reach 100% conditioning for the club, Sagna noted that he wants to “bring what [he] can for the team”. He praised defender Carl Jenkinson for impressively taking on his place in the first team.
