Mauro Formica marked his Barclays Premier League debut with a goal. The Argentinian striker cut a left-foot shot across Wayne Hennessey and into the net from a tight angle on 20 minutes after Jason Roberts' persistence had fed him on the left of the box.
Wolves responded well and equalised just three minutes later when Matthew Jarvis dug out a superb cross from the right and Stephen Fletcher rose to bullet home a header.
The visitors took the lead two minutes after the break. Kevin Doyle's penalty was well saved by Paul Robinson but the danger was not cleared and Stephen Ward was on hand to score.
